Re-making their way back to the theatres, we have some of the best movies to await and relive the magic the film had once created. However, our first instance towards any film to be remade is,
“I hope they don’t screw it up!” We just can’t deny the fact that Bollywood is addicted to remakes and has screwed some of the best originals by remaking them such as, Kyo Kii..Mai Jhuth Nahin Bolta (Remake of Liar Liar), God Tussi Great Ho (Remake of Bruce Almighty) and more, yeah many more! However, some of them did stand true to its expectations like, Garam Masala (Remake of Boeing Boeing), Salaam Namaste (Remake of Nine Months), Ghajini (Remake of Momento), etc.
With remakes being a major part of Hindi cinema, below mentioned are a few remakes to look upto in the coming months left. Cheggit!
Judwaa 2 is a rebooted version of David Dhawan’s 1997 film, Judwaa, and it stars Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in the lead. Judwaa is still termed as one of the biggest hysterical blockbusters of Hindi cinema with Salman Khan’s power-packed performance in the film and Anu Malik’s iconic songs like “ Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara” and “Oonchi Hai Building.” The trailer of Judwaa 2 has managed to create a buzz among the audiences and is being appreciated by most of them. We hope that this remake doesn’t take away from the original one, entrenched in our hearts, and only leaves us in splits.

The T-Series production, Chef starring the very talented, Saif Ali Khan and Padmapriya Janakiraman in the lead role is a remake of the American hit, Chef (2014) which was co-produced and directed by Jon Favreau & had the supremely talented, Sofia Vergara and Favreau himself as the lead. This comedy-drama was well appreciated by the critics who praised Favreau for his direction, story and the performances of its cast. Saif has always left us in awe with his acting skills and thus, Chef seems to be a promising one re-making its way to the theatres. Although not much about this film has been revealed yet, Chef might be a stand out as very rarely do we have films based on men wanting to cook, especially in India.

The Red Chillies Entertainment production, Ittefaq: It Happened One Night (2017), starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead is an adaption of Yash Chopra’s 1969 film, Ittefaq. The first look of Ittefaq was revealed by none other than Shahrukh Khan himself and the audiences couldn’t keep their calm. In an interview, Shahrukh claimed that he too wanted to work in the film, however due to prior commitments he couldn’t. He added that he is glad to be a part of this project & looks forward to witnessing how this remake performs. After watching Sidharth’s performances in his recent films, we doubt if he will be able make justice to the principle role of Vikram, which Rajesh Khanna then, had nailed it.
